Palm Beach hotel - מלון חוף התמרים

באוסף המפיות יש נוכחות מכובדת ביותר של מלונות ואתרי נופש. הרבה מהם כבר אינם קיימים אבל יש כאלה ששורדים עד היום. אחד מהם הוא מלון חוף התמרים שמופיע באוסף על לא פחות מ3 מפיות צבעוניות. המלון שיושב ממש על חוף הים זכה בהתאם בלוגו עם דימוי של גלים וכפי הנראה סוג של עץ דקל (או זנב של לוויתן?!). הלוגו ללא ספק מוצלח בהרבה מהלוגו החדש והסתמי לחלוטין. במלון היה אולם אירועים פופולרי למדי שאכלס לא מעט חתונות ובריתות של תושבי הסביבה. מביש קמעה, אבל גם אני חגגתי  באולם זה ממש את חגיגות ה"פרום" כשסיימתי את  לימודיי בתיכון ברוח ימי בברלי הילס 90210. האירוע היה די זוועתי אבל מה שבטוח, הייתי צריכה לפחות לקחת משם מפית

In my collection there's quite a massive presence of hotels. Some are long gone but some still exist till our days. One of them is Palm beach hotel that lays on Acre's shores and is represented in my collection on no less than 3 napkins! The logo is trying to combine some waves naturally with some kind of a figure that might be a really fat palm tree with a little human head.. Or is it a whale's tale?
There are no blue whales in the Mediterranean sea as far as I remember. The new logo is much less exciting as you can see right here.
The hotel also holds a big event hall for celebrations, where those three probably came from, and this popular venue for Haifa bay lodgers was where I had my shameful prom when I finished high school..

Cafeteria Park - קפטריה פרק

והפעם מפית נוספת ממסעדה שאיננה איתנו עוד - קפטריה פרק ששכנה בדיזנגוף פינת גורדון

ללוגו הסאלוני משהו משודך מזלג כחול שנראה קצת מסכן ותלוש. סביר להניח שנשלף ממאגר הדימויים בבית הדפוס. אחרי הכל מסעדה ומזלג הם שילוב קלאסי וכנראה די מתאים למקום נטול יומרות ומלצרים

This napkin comes from a Tel-avivian restaurant that does not exist any more - Cafeteria Park. In the 60's you could find this self service hub in Dizengoff and Gordon st. The logo's type has a western saloon feel into it, while the poor blue fork seems a little lonely down there and probably was added at the print house to fill the empty space. After all, a fork is a classic for a restaurant, mostly when it has no pretensions and no waiters.

 בחלק הפנימי של המפית מחכה לנו הלוגו של שטראוס הספונסרית. בכל פעם שאני רואה שחברה מסחרית גדולה כמו שטראוס עושה ללוגו שלה מתיחת פנים אני מתחילה לערוך השוואות. בדרך כלל הגירסה הישנה יותר מנצחת וזה נכון גם במקרה זה. אני חושבת שזה אחד הלוגואים היותר כיפיים שהיו להם

At the inner part of the napkin you can find the sponsor's logo. In this case it's Strauss - the dairy company. Every time a huge company like Strauss gives its logo a trendy new make-over I start compering the versions. Usually the old version wins like in this case.
I find this logo as one of their super fun versions.
